Service Description

Social Awareness: Youth will learn how to navigate within their social environment and how it is important to have positive friendships. Each member will make suggestions and provide input from their own experiences and as a group. Discuss various ways on how to deal with difficult friendships. Self-Esteem: The group will participate in various self-esteem exercises that builds upon their individuality and reflects their own personalities. Youth will be able to identify what makes them unique and how to accept and to embrace others who are not like them. Emotional Well-Being: Youth will receive instructional guidance on the concept of emotional well-being and the importance of them embracing how it can help them to recognize how it can improve their overall emotional health. Coping Skills & Techniques: Members will work together and make suggestions based on their own experiences on the different types of coping skills they used to get through a tough situation. Guided and collaborative support with facilitator to include specific types of techniques that can help with almost any situation. Mindfulness, grounding, and breathing exercises are some techniques that can help. Provide downloadable apps for them to use on the go to support them when they need it. Distraction and Redirecting: Youth members will incorporate their own style of distractions skills that can help redirect the behavior. Remember, learning in a collaborative environment encourages and help youth to find solutions that will improve their overall behaviors and impulses.
